THANGS: Bill "Chop Top" Mosely / Jeppson's Malort

This is the FINAL painting in this series and a memorial to the great dude who ordered that series of paintings, Lenny. I made 5 paintings with him of 80s slasher movie icons and Jeppson’s Malort and then he passed in early 2020. 2020 was the first year in business that I didn't work on one of those paintings and it felt weird. In late 2019, I worked a convention and Bill Mosely came up to my booth and started chatting with me. The whole event had just ended and he was talking to me about my horror paintings. Long days at the convention and I didn't recognize him and was treating him like a customer with me mouthing off about how "Actually, Chainsaw 2 was so much more enjoyable than I was expecting on rewatch, i loved it" when he stopped me, brought me over to his booth and was like, duh, I'm the star of that movie. He then introduced me to his friend Sid Haig who passed on shortly after that a couple months before Lenny. He was just a genuinely nice guy who was excited to talk about horror and tell me he dug some of my paintings and once I've gotten some distance from Lenny's passing, I realized he would be the perfect guy to memorialize this series which felt kind of unresolved to me for whatever reason. He was genuine and nice in all the same ways Lenny was and also a slasher movie icon.
